Tee Shirt Scraps Quilt

I stumbled on a few cool pictures of quilts made from the front design of graphic tee shirts and I immediately gathered up all of my old ones along with a bunch from my husband. While procrastinating on a design/layout for that one I wanted to make something with all of the offcuts. There is a bunch of extra material from the back, sleeves, and area below the design so I figured I should be able to get 1 quilt out of it. After piecing the top to this one I've barely made a dent >.< so it looks like another tee shirt scrap quilt will be on the horizon!

Test layout

I was given the tip to look at photos of my projects in black and white to get a better sense of values. Here is my first attempt, doesn't look too bad! There is some darker values congregating on the top right but I like the kinda fade effect.

The fletched effect on this seam was oddly satisfying.

This is why I can never get anything done :<

Starting to quilt this beast it weighs a freaking ton. The black on black is pretty much invisible except for up close.

One of the lil "I-spy" elements. I think the shirt was from one of the GitUniverse events.

More quilting to do -_- but I'm super pleased with how it's turning out.
